Red River Gorge Fever

This is not a medical condition. It is however, a strong urge to go to Red River Gorge and the Natural Bridge State Park to do some hiking, camping, climbing, rappelling and some awesome sightseeing! If you’re looking for something for the family to do together or just a group of friends, this is the place. It’s located in the Daniel Boone National Forest. In early spring some of the campgrounds may not be fully open yet, so it might be a good idea to call ahead. The Natural Bridge State Resort Park is open all year and they have a lodge and some great trails with easy access. If mobility is an issue for you or someone you know, the Natural Bridge also offers a sky lift to the top of the Natural Bridge area for a minimal fee. The trails located in the Red River Gorge area vary from very easy to rugged. The trails are pretty clearly marked, but be aware of the dangers of getting too close to the edge for that perfect camera shot. The edges can be very slippery on the sandstone and the pine needles, so be careful and watch the kids. Don’t forget the camera and extra batteries; most of the scenery from the trails has breathtaking scenery that could be post card quality. Check out the rest of the website for some fantastic photos and some great information on the trails and campgrounds. If you need climbing gear for the beginner or the expert from rappelling to doing free climbs, we’ve got the gear you need. Anyway get out there and have some fun and don’t forget to LookSkyward!
